Growth of Group Action Claims

Our Sophia Whiteman’s recent article in Lexis Nexis, explores the reasons why there’s been a recent increase in group action claims in England and Wales.

There are a number of contributing factors including the growth of the funding market, changes to the legal system and the influence of US ‘class action’ style claims. Due to the popularity of group actions, it’s likely that they’ll continue to grow.

The increasing demand for these actions demonstrates the potential for a variety of claims which have not yet been considered. This is a positive development for those individuals who’ve suffered harm at the hands of large corporations, and who can utilise group actions to access justice and compensation more easily.
